Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why do you need to be at least 18 years of age?
— The shows are being held in licensed premises that strictly enforce the over 18 minimum age requirement.

2. What are my chances of being selected?
As they say “you have to be in it to win it”. Right?

After that just give it your best shot. If you don’t have success this time, work on your act and you’re welcome to come back next time.

3. I’ve missed the start! Does that mean I can’t apply?
— We want to get the best possible competition roster, so we’re not going to automatically reject an application that gets to us after the start date but to avoid missing out we would advise getting your application in asap.

4. Should I apply?
— That is an excellent question. (Probably should be the first question in this list.)

Certainly, if you are eligible…you CAN apply. But should you? Hmmmm…

It may be that what you do is exactly what the audience want…or exactly what no one else can do. You’ll never know if you don’t apply.

If you’re a comedian and are ready for the challenge and the incredible opportunity that this event represents, then yes, you should apply.

And we look forward to seeing you in it!
